I remember making these baskets as a child and by using either Christmas fabric or kiwiana fabric you have a delightful and original container for chocolates (what else!), shortbread or other culinary delights. Wrap in cellophane and tie with an appropriate ribbon Pohutukawa_basket_1.jpgand you have gift with the Wow! factor.

  Click here to download the free pattern for the Christmas swag.  Of course you don't need to limit yourself to just five hexagons you could make a swag that reaches right across the room!

kowhaiwhai_tablerunner_1.jpg Christmas place mats.  A mere 1.2m will make six placemats.  Or use .6m of two different fabrics and make them reversable.  The free pattern shows seven other colourways - I just couldn't decide which ones I liked the best!
