Quilt size: 85cm x 85cm (33½” x 33½”)

An advent calendar with a distinctly New Zealand flavour. The 24 triangular pockets can hold a small gift or wrapped chocolate and when not in use for the countdown of days before Christmas, the wall hanging looks as if it has a border of pieced triangles.
Featuring a stylized fusible appliquéd pohutukawa tree with some machine embellishments. The four surrounding triangles are cut from the
Pohutukawa blossom fabric.
Clear, easy-to-follow instructions are included plus a full size appliqué drawing of the Pohutukawa.
Interesting fact:
An advent calendar is a card or poster with twenty-four small doors, one to be opened each day from December 1 until Christmas Eve. Each door conceals a picture. This popular tradition arose in Germany in the late 1800s and soon spread throughout Europe and North America. Originally, the images in Advent calendars were derived from the Hebrew Bible.
