This fine marking pen is often used by designers when marking their red work or embroidery patterns. 

Although the ink is permanent, the stitching covers the marks and of course they are very easy to see.  No more fading blue ink.

Leanne Beasley in her patterns in the Vignette magazines always seems to mark her patterns even on white fabric with a brown pen.
